Successful HOSA SLC for PGHS


The North Carolina Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) of NC held this year’s State Leadership Conference March 30 – April 2, 2016 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, NC. Though it was spring break week for the students of the Randolph County School System, PGHS had over 20 participants at the event and brought home an impressive number of awards. Three competitors qualified for the National HOSA Conference to be held in Nashville, TN in June. Advisors are Amber Thompson and Meredith Mitchell.

NC HOSA Century Club Membership Award – for HOSAs with over 100 members

American Red Cross Blood Drive Sponsor – for successfully hosting ARC Blood Drives

National Service Project Award – Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

PGHS Advisor Amber Thompson Collects the Gold Star Chapter Award

Gold Star Chapter Award – To recognize outstanding NC HOSA Chapters who encourage students’ participation, follow the HOSA plan of work, and actively participate in HOSA activities to achieve their goals

NC HOSA Membership Award – Largest District 2A Chapter Award

Individual and Team Winners

Malexus Mason – 2nd Place in Personal Care

Dylan Thompson and Kelbie Cox – 3rd Place in CPR / First Aid

Jessica Reinhart and Ashleigh Neal – 6th Place in CPR / First Aid

Taylor Trogdon and Kaylee Hartman – 10th Place in EMT
