Summer Letter

I hope you are each enjoying your best summer ever! Though school has not officially been in session, many great things have been happening across our county.

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) haven’t slowed down! DECA started the nationals circuit with a trip to Orlando in April. Since then, we’ve had two newly elected state officers in SkillsUSA attend nationals in Louisville. FBLA sent two national competitors to Chicago. And HOSA saw the largest group, 8 students and 2 advisors, travel to nationals in Anaheim. District-wide FFA chapters have attended State Leadership Conference in Raleigh and we have national qualifiers heading to Louisville in October. FFA teams have been to leadership experiences at White Lake and Washington, DC.

New folks have been hired, upgrade projects are underway, 2015-16 initiatives are in the planning stages, purchase orders have been processed, and beginning of the year activities are planned.

Please mark your calendar for these two important events.Randolph CTE

August 17thCTE Rally 2015

We will begin at Sunset Theater in Asheboro with an opening session for everyone. Our lunch will be at The Flying Pig Restaurant, just a short walk down the block on Sunset Avenue. We will reconvene after lunch at the Randolph County Senior Adults Center on Salisbury Street for breakout sessions.

September 19thCTE Fest

Imagine this…a day devoted to the wonderfulness of Career and Technical Education! It’s happening this September. All CTSOs will be invited to participate in a giant day of fundraising, service, and education for our county. The event will be held on the campus of RCC and will include great food, a gigantic yard sale, community service, and educational games. Each CTSO will earn funds that can be used to support student participation in your organization.

I’m looking forward to seeing you on August 17th!
